2007 Joint Awards Program

Chris Parsons, President of the Planning Association of Washington (PAW), and Steve Butler, President of the Washington Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA), are pleased to announce the 2007 Awards Program. For the 22nd consecutive year, the associations will jointly honor outstanding contributions to the field of planning in Washington. The program is designed to bring public attention and deserved recognition to public and private sector planning efforts, as well as student projects in university planning programs.

Applications must be postmarked or delivered by July 27, 2007. Awards will be presented at the 2007 APA Fall Conference in Tacoma, WA on October 3-5.

About the Program
The Planning Association of Washington and the Washington Chapter of the American Planning Association have joined together since 1985 to host a Joint Awards Program to honor outstanding contributors to the field of planning in Washington. The program is designed to recognize exemplary planning efforts in the state of Washington; promote quality planning at all levels of government and by the private sector; and increase public awareness of the role of planning in the state.


Award Program Goals

  • Recognize exemplary planning efforts in the State of Washington.
  • Promote superior quality planning at all levels of government and by the private sector.
